eMail Matching Lets Auto Dealers Contact Customers the Fast, Modern Way

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 18, 2006

Sarasota, FL – Dealers who do not have email addresses for their valued customers run the risk of losing a lot of potential business. The simple fact is that communication via email is quicker, more efficient, and simply more effective than phone or direct mail.

After all, some 75 percent of consumers are online nowadays and 66 percent prefer to be contacted by email. Yet, after years of attempting to capture their customer’s email addresses, the average dealer still only has email addresses for less than 2% of their customers.

Cactus Sky Communications stands ready to help, with its new email Matching system that can increase that percentage five-fold, or more. This exclusive system takes the dealership’s existing customer database and cross references each person’s physical address against a national opt-in email Database containing more than 120 million records.

Once the initial database is created, a “Welcome” email is sent out asking each customer for permission to send email offers. The email will list the benefits of receiving email from the dealership while providing the option of not participating.

The best part is that the dealer only pays for those addresses where the matches are successful and where the customer agrees to accept email from the dealer. There is no charge for invalid email addresses, or for customers who have asked to be omitted. Furthermore, this step-by-step process ensures that the dealer is complying with all current federal and state privacy laws.

Once this expanded database is developed, the dealer can market to these customers as often as desired. The dealership now owns that complete record. Obviously, this is quite a step beyond renting email lists, which demand a fee for each use of a name.

“Obtaining customer email addresses lets the dealer establish invaluable online relationships with customers,” said Peter Martin, President of Cactus Sky Communications, which specializes in advertising for new car dealers. “By using ongoing eMarketing communications, the dealership maintains its relationship with the customer until the next purchase time rolls around. In addition, this is a highly cost-effective form of marketing that can dramatically increase traffic to the dealership’s web site.”

Email is even more vital for communication with business professionals. On weekdays, 53 percent of professionals check their email more than six times a day. According to the Garner Report, 34 percent check regularly throughout the day. On average, business professionals spend 49 minutes each day managing their email accounts.

As an added bonus, Cactus Sky also offers a complete email Management System, with all the tools necessary for effective Database Marketing. For example, the system can automatically send service-targeted emails at the beginning of the month followed by a second email in the middle of the month emphasizing end-of-month sales. Cactus Sky can also develop eNewsletters that go to every customer. These programs provide the added value of allowing the dealer to further build and expand their relationship with the customers while also providing the ability to conduct valuable CSI and market research surveys.
